Gamma Quadrant.
Once belonging to the Dominion, it has been ten years since the war ended, breaking the Dominion's hold on the area. The cleanup has been long and costly, but finally colonization had begun to various worlds within the quadrant. Merchant trade between worlds is on the rise, with traffic between the quadrants at a rise each year. Thousands have come from across the galaxy, with hopes of a new life and brighter future in their eyes. And for many their dreams have been realized, as hard work and foresight pays off. But for others that hope quickly died, turning many to the only way to survive - piracy.
The Gamma Quadrant is easily the most multicultural region of the galaxy, abound with the curious and the strange, with represented races from the Klingons to the Romulans to the Cardassian Union. Not to mention the Dominion, and dozens of indigenous races in the quadrant itself. Seems everyone wants a piece of the Gamma Quadrant.
Despite the splendor, the Gamma Quadrant is far from safe. Not only are trade partners and civilians taking advantage of the quadrant's wealth; petty thieves and criminals to organized crime and pirates, they're all cashing in. However, Starfleet's starships are there, protecting the trade routes, discovering new space, and providing support for the colonies and star bases that fly the Federation flag.
And now the unthinkable has happened. Terrorists have managed, using technology as yet unknown to the Federation, to close the Bajoran wormhole. A dedicated team of scientists have been assigned the task of getting it back open. Until then the Federation forces are own their own.
Task Force 9, in the Alpha Division of Bravo Fleet, is the Federation's foothold in the Gamma Quadrant. Commanded by Rear Admiral Dominique Lucatz and headquartered on Deep Space 14 in the Finnea sector, the Federation must hold against suddenly aggressive Dominion forces, and the prospects of all this suddenly becoming home.
Can the brave souls of Task Force 9 weather the storm?
